Wrangling the employees 101
It didn’t go as you expected.
When you introduced a new medical record keeping system, you sent out the intro link to all your techs.
Instead of putting the news system to use, you still see them scribbling down notes between patients.
It’s like they’re fighting tooth and nail against the change.
Here’s the thing…
I know you went to vet school to learn how to treat animals.
You didn’t take classes on how to wrangle employees.
How well your team handles change is up to you.
Most resistance to change doesn’t come from the system itself.
It comes from how that change is presented and supported.
Here’s where you can start:
Communicate the Why: Make sure your staff understands not just what is changing but why it’s changing and how it will improve their daily tasks or enhance patient care.
Involve Your Team: People are more likely to support a change when they feel like they had a say in it. Get your staff’s feedback early in the process, and incorporate their suggestions when possible.
Offer Training: New systems can feel overwhelming, especially without proper guidance. Make sure your team feels confident using the new tools by offering hands-on training and resources.
If this feels like a lot to handle on your own, that’s completely understandable.
Leadership doesn’t have to be a one-person job.
This is exactly where a practice manager can step in.
They can provide the support and guidance your team needs, freeing you up to focus on your patients.
You need someone who can help:
Foster strong leadership
Ensure your team is ready to embrace change with confidence
