No More Maybes—Streamline Hiring

You’re parsing through resumes.

7 years of tech experience, but no mention of medication management—maybe.

Well-trained in handling billing and invoices, but no mention of medical record management—another maybe.

Interviewing all the “maybes” would suck up days.

Spending more time parsing through resumes now will save you time in the interview process later.

Here are my 4 tips for improved resume screening

  • Decide what skills are a must, and look for keywords that pertain to that.

  • Sort the resumes into three piles: No | Maybe | Yes

  • Review the ”Maybe” pile for education, job history, and skills. Move only highly qualified into the “Yes” pile—now you’re down to 1 pile.

  • Repeat the first step with the “Yes” pile. Decide what other skills are musts so you can continue narrowing it down until you have your top 10 candidates.

After you’ve narrowed it down to 10, you can move into phone screening and narrow down the candidates even more before setting dates for official interviews.

Hiring is important, but it shouldn’t be a time suck.

Take the time to carefully parse through resumes and find the most qualified candidates so you don’t have to waste days interviewing.

When you finally have your top candidates, use my interview questions and tips to simplify your hiring process even more.
